Outstanding Post-16 Director Appointed
Landau Forte Academy Tamworth Sixth Form has appointed a brand new team to lead the next stage of its development.
In a particularly exciting move, Mr Greg Williams has been appointed as Director of the Sixth Form. Mr Williams is currently Senior Assistant Headteacher at Aston Manor Academy in Birmingham and leads its Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ Sixth Form. He is a school improvement specialist and also supports two nearby schools to improve their post-16 education.
Mr Williams will work with Dr Antony Edkins, Chief Executive of Landau Forte Charitable Trust, who has been leading the Sixth Form as its Executive Principal since Christmas. Dr Edkins has extensive experience of helping students to achieve top grades and access the very best universities, particularly Oxford and Cambridge.
Additionally, Mr Nick Haddon from Landau Forte QEMS has been promoted with additional responsibility to provide strategic leadership support to Mr Williams and Dr Edkins.
Dr Edkins said:
“We are delighted to have appointed Greg Williams as Director. He is an exceptional post-16 leader with a track record of rapid improvement and will be an excellent fit for Tamworth Sixth Form. Our new leadership team shares the belief that young people should be challenged and supported to secure the highest A-level grades.”
Mr Williams said:
“I feel very fortunate to have been chosen to lead and improve the Sixth Form. Like Dr Edkins I have been extremely impressed by the students here and we want to show them just how much they can achieve if they aim high.”
Mr Williams will take up post in February. There will be an opportunity for prospective students and parents to meet Mr Williams and Dr Edkins at the Tamworth Sixth Form open evening on Tuesday 26 January, 6.30-8.30pm.
